Hi,
I have lost my number one position on Y and dropped 124 places.
When I have checked my home page is now listed ww.mysite.co.uk. I have lost a "W".
It now says "error" and lists ww.mysite.co.uk.
The correct www domain has disapeared.
What could have happened here?
I have not tried to relist the site and it is about 18 months old?
All the subpages remain normal.
have you any suggestions.

Mark

when I do a www.mysite.co.uk search in Y, it shows all the pages of my site. My "www.mysite.co.uk" homepage has gone and has been relaced with a "ww.mysite.co.uk". complete with a error message.

Error
Sorry, there has been an error: Please check that you are using the correct address and try again.
ww.mysite.co.uk - 1k - Cached - More pages from this site - Save

I am presuming i can't post my url on this forum to show the real result

Ok, so short answer is that the Yahoo serps show your homepage listed as ww.example.com, yes?

Have you checked if any links within your site point to ww.example.com?

i.e., are there links in the footer or maybe in your home button that point to the wrong URL?

If the culprit isn't there, then have you checked if your Yahoo directory listing, or perhaps a dmoz listing has the wrong URL?

Also, try this search in Yahoo: linkdomain:ww.example.com and see if any sites show up that are linking to it.

How about in Google, do you see the same phenomenom?

Thanks for you reply.
You were right, I found a baclink to ww.mysite.co.uk from an article just one of thousands of correct links pointing back to my site, so why this had so much effect I don't know.

This morning though, my homepage has reappeared, back at number one so panic over.

Thanks for you reply
