What tips are there i can use to hide from the search engines my site is content that primarily links to affiliates.
SE's cant read java so is hiding links in java an option.
What about php?
Im asking about these as sites that have overtaken me since the Jagger update seem to be using these methods,
Or what about this method, instead of linking direct to the affiliate, I make a page about the affiliate and link to the affiliate from that page?
Any other options, any definite no no's, as Im all for practising good seo and nothing that will get me frowned upon by the search engines.
It seems its getting tougher for affiliate sites, Yahoo is dead against them, and I think Google may go that way more in the future, as may MSN. However at least 1 of my affiliate sites I beileve to be the best in its field and it have 200 pages of useful unique content, but just so happens to make money from affiliates.
Ive come back to ask:
Is this kind of inking ok?
<a href='javascript:pop("http://www.yourdomain.com/")'">Your Domain</a>
What about this kind of linking:
<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/click.php?id=keyword_affiliate&referer=/book/sleepless_nights.htm "
Or this kind of linking:
<a href="/redir.php?http://www.affiliatedomain.com" target="_blank" onmouseover="status='http://www.affiliatedomain.com; return true;" onmouseout="status=defaultStatus; return true;" title="Affiliate Domain">Affiliate Domain</a>
How are this likely to help me in the SERPS? Or hurt me?
The above are what i see other sites using, and surely theres a reason as they dont link to other pages of there own domain in these ways
Thanks
