I have a business with an online presence which does very well in MSN, has never performed in Google, and until recently had a good showing in yahoo.

A little while ago I noticed that the site dropped from the results. All of the pages except the index page were gone when I searched for "site:domain.com".

Has anyone else experienced this, and does this mean that Yahoo has penalised my business for some reason?

I had/have a similar problem recently.

I had a domain I registered that I think was previously penalized by Yahoo. I sent them a letter and either coincidentally or by action it started showing actual description for the main page. But the main page was still the only one indexed. Then a week later even that disappeared.

Then I sent another letter and also submitted a yahoo text sitemap (basically just a page with text listings of urls in your site that you submit to yahoo as a url). After a few days, that page was showing up. Then shortly after that a few more pages were indexed. Now today I am seeing my main page flashing in and out, so hopefully by tomorrow it will have solidly returned.

Anyways, I have still not heard back on my last letter, but I would definately recommend the text sitemap submission. Seems to impact yahoo's crawling and index of pages.
