How to contact yahoo?

How can I inform Yahoo about a duplicate listing in the same directory?

Do you know an email address to yahoo to report some "spamming" or misrelated information?

Thank you

If you have success with that, please post. I have a few sites to show them :)

I think a lot of people would be interested in knowing the answer to this question. I am tired of getting pornographic, sexually suggestive, or otherwise disgusting, unsolicited emails. I know my younger siblings get these too as well as my friends. It isn't right!

Hi alyanna99,

Welcome to the board. I think the discussion is talking about actually web sites in the directory and not email...however I do empathize with your problem.

I came here looking for a way to contact Yahoo because of a scam going on using them as part of it. I'm not sure this is the right place to post what's going on, but it's important for people to know because they give out their personal information without realizing it's just a scam. I was playing word search on Flipside and of course there are all these things you can enter to win things. I entered to win a Playstation2. I received an e-mail telling me I'd won a Playstation2 from Yahoo and to fill out the questionaire so they could overnight my prize. I did and after doing that they sent another e-mail saying I had one more step to go. You download this program which takes you to a porn site and you pay $2.99 a minute. I was upset bigtime. I went back and re-read the first e-mail and re-read it. Then I noticed it... the To: wasn't my name but someone elses. Well we all know that internet mail is not like the US mail, you don't get e-mails that aren't addressed to you. What happens is, once you open the e-mail it changes the To: to someone else's name, therefore voiding 'you're the winner'. Of course those of us unsuspecting don't catch it, until it's too late of course. I'm sure that this type of activity is illegal. Everyone needs to be aware of such scams going on. I hope I have posted this in the right place.

Hi Tristalynn,

Thanks for letting us know about this. There isn't much we can do, but it's great to know that this scam is taking place.

angiolo,

I would not go into too much detail about the duplicate listing when you e-mail the Yahoo staff, just point it out as briefly as possible, they get them all the time and will appreciate it.

TristaLynn,

I would do a search for web sites where you can report such dubios practices. They are out there :)

I just received an email from a "yahoo" email subscriber looking for "help" in transferring millions of dollars to a US bank account from overseas. The email requested bank account information, etc. I am quite sure it is a scam and would like to contact someone at yahoo since it is being perpetrated through their email service.

Hello Jennifer, welcome to webmaster world - anything to do with the net, you've come to the right place.

I get them spam mails all the time on all my email acc's.

I don't know how they get the addresses, but they are definetly a scam, and deleting and banding them from your popmail or imap servers is a better way around it, as though most use yahoo as a front door email account, i am not sure how they actually find their targets.

Alternatively tell them to *******, some times work, unfortunately it comes with the territory.

Agreed, the best thing is to delete and block the sender. Sending anything back verifies to them that they've reached an active email address, so it's not a good idea. Just nuke it and forget it, is what I'd do with it.

JamesR,

I have had quite a bit of success with reporting abusive sites. If you have strong arguments on why pages are to be considered being put out then contact an editor and you will most likely be successful in having them dealt with. I've done it a few times when people commit some flagrant abuse. My primary argument is that abusive sites devalue my site and all sites of the category. Seems to always work and keeps the value of my realestate up.

I forward 5-10 of these scam letters to Yahoo! every day. E-mail the complete message, including headers to abuse@yahoo.com and they will take care of the account for you.
