Has anyone else noticed that while we get thrown out of the SERP's for duplicate content, they continue to supply their result to anyone that will have them?

Take Yahoo as a prime example, they supply results to the likes of go.com, mysearch.com and probably loads more. Also their overture adverts appear on Yahoo, MSN and a million other website across the net. Is this not duplicate content too? Should these sites not be removed from listings or stopped altogether by the search engines if they really want to do away with duplicate content?

Yahoo! still seems to have a lot of duplicates in its SERPs...

Also, many sites DO have some duplicate content AND a legitimate reason for it - e.g. sites which have some of their news provided by of the large newswires. This does not mean that all these sites should be banned IMO.
