i am interested in understanding what i can expect from yahoo serps for a new site published about 40 days ago. I have a competative term focused site that has popped into position 30.
Are there small daily chages in serps in yahoo.
Or does yahoo favor the big sweeping chages approach, or is it a mix of both.
The cafepress thing is clever. I have created rss feeds and submitted them to Y and MSN. No love from MSN but great response from Y. I love the freshness thing. Misspellings seem to be another longtail area for obtaining rapid gratification.
I took over a site and got it from ranking in the 600's for my main term to now ranking #31 in just over a month.
Now I wanna figure out how to take it from 30 to the top 10....
What are the most important things that Yahoo looks for?
Is it just backlinks and the waiting game, or are there certain specific areas (title tag, H1 etc etc) that Yahoo values more importantly than others?
The anwser to that isn't as clear as seeking how to properly marinate and roast a chicken.
To go into detail about YOUR particular website would violate the tos regarding site reviews, so let's not talk about your website. However, the more competitive the niche the more effort you will have to put into all areas of traditional seo, which could also include a large dose of content development, constantly fresh backlinks, deeplinks, etc.
Or maybe it could be that you simply need a keyword-stuffed sitemap on your homepage.
