Hi guys,

I'm thinking of splurging the $299 for a directory listing, but my site has one major section dedicated to evaluating online poker rooms. Does this violate Yahoo directory's "no gambling site" policy? According to the user agreement:

Please note: Yahoo! Directory does not accept listings for online gambling sites and prescription drug sites. Online gambling sites are those that have gambling as their central theme, including those that accept wagers or require payment in exchange for the chance to win prizes, as well as sites that offer both information and links related primarily to the promotion of online gambling.

In certain UK categories there are sites that are listed as gambling sites. But in the section I want to submit to, most of the sites are not about "real money" gambling. (Except for <snip>, which may have flown in under false pretenses).

Does anyone have any experience submitting sites related to, not but dedicated to gambling?

Thanks!

P.S. I noticed directory listings in Yahoo are not direct links.

Does that allow spiders to recognize a link to your page?

TO clarify, when I said Yahoo links are not direct links, I mean in their directory, they seem to link out like this:

http ://rds.yahoo.com/......./*http%3a//www.webmasterworld.com/

Can the spiders recognize my link when it is not a traditional "a href" code?

I submitted a portal containing information about a Gambling sector. I paid the $299; I was rejected, and refunded.

According to their policy they do not refund. I received an e-mail saying that they do not accept sites involved/promoting Gambling, and saying I would be refunded.

I called the call-center and got a refund :)

Guess I was lucky, my site was an informational site, you could not Gamble on it.
