We are receiving lots of vistis from Altavista, about twice as much as from Yahoo itself. It does not make sense to us it AV is using Yahoo results. I wonder what it is going on, are we being spidered by AV constantly for some reason.

Altavista is owned by Yahoo!, that is why they are using their search engine results. Don't look for that to change any time soon.
