I was looking around Yahoo and was impressed with what I saw with their results. They've made quite a lot of progress in just 1 year.

Here are some observations about what I'm seeing:

•Network links work well..as footer or on the page.

•Links from same IP are okay

•Anchor text density – between 15% , and up to 50%

•Categorical links? There seems to be a need for a sprinkling of categorical links. The percentage is low, but most sites ranking will have at least a few categorical links.

•creating multiple subpages with links to categorical sites is working

•adding same links page on multiple domains is working

•Sites with a high number of inbound links rank well, even if anchor density is low. If the site has on-page criteria, and a large number of inbound links (over 20,000), it can rank with low anchor density

•Blog spam still works, but not as much as before

•Strong on-page helps – Kw has to appear at least once in key places

•Yahoo doesn’t seem to require exact match in terms of prosimity..cash fast is the same as fast cash?

•Max anchor density should be about 50%

•Site wide links don’t trigger penalties, but have to be supported by links from other sites, a few categorical

•Most of the links seem to have descriptions surrounding them

Just wanted to share observations.
