Could someone explain me how exactly the Yahoo Web search works. To me it seems as if it matters a great deal whatever you a listed in the directory or not and whatever you have paid for submissions of your sites though Site Match™

The things you mention don't matter that much. Build quality content pages and point some links at 'em.

well the thing is that I can clearly see that I get really good results at google, but the pages are doing lousy at yahoo.

I've been rockin on Y for about a year and G ignored me till the Alegra update. Now ranking on G like I do on Y.
May depend on how old site is. It took me 1 1/2 years to learn from scratch and rank.
