Yahoo Directory PR Passthrough

Does a directory listing still pass PR?

I rarely go into the directory anymore, but my listing just auto-renewed with Yahoo and I went in to take a peak how many other sites were now in my category. I noticed that the URL now passes through rds.yahoo.com before coming to my site. Logic dictates that PR will NOT be passed due to it is going through this extra step, and while I'm aware the Google backlinks list is not accurate, my directory listing used to appear on the list, and now it does not. This was the only real main benefit I was keeping the listing for, can other confirm that the PR pass-through isn't occuring for them either?

Cheers,

I'd like to know this as well.

I see one of my listings in the yahoo directory is about to expire end of january. I logged into my account to see which credit card I had listed on this order and for some reason and through no request of my own, the status has been listed as cancelled since august?

Anyway yahoo customer services said I'll have to wait til it drops out the directory then resubmit....Great :(

If the links no longer pass PR I won't bother re-submitting...I'm guessing they do have ranking value though, in which case when my site drops out I'll lose several seasoned backlinks (until the site is reviewed again) through no fault of my own :(

Unless of course Yahoo forget to delete the site :) I've heard it sometimes happens.

Have you taken a look at the non-American Yahoo mirrors? They're passing PR.

Anyway yahoo customer services said...

hehe, Oooooo. A low profile is a good thing. ;)

Site is cleaner than an episode of Teletubbies, but you're right better to remain anonymous.....Sometimes though you have no choice but to raise your head above the parapet.
