2-3 days ago we noticed that 2 of our sites in completely different sectors have dissappeared from the y index. Both are held on the same server but have different IP's. Has anyone else noticed this. Both sites were on page 1 for their major search terms.

Looks like the same thing happened to you in August with Google:
[webmasterworld.com...]

Our site which is very well ranked with yahoo and msn and formerly google just disappeared from google a couple of months ago.

As for why the engines would drop your site, you may want to check out this recent thread:

Site traffic dropped by over 60%
Site traffic Dropped Checklist

And the all time classic:
A Dropped Site Checklist
Start here when disaster strikes.

Something obviously is wrong if first your Google traffic tanks then your Yahoo traffic disappears. The above threads contain useful information about why your site isn't ranking well.

It will be a stretch if that last one, at 83 posts long, doesn't address something that is wrong with your website. But if after reading them you don't see your issue resolved, feel free to post about it. But please remember that it's against the TOS to initiate site reviews.

Thanks.
