Is there a way that I can check that Yahoo is penalizing the site ... I am having a hard time to get Yahoo to index my site ... the only I was able to do it was through Site Match and that also it indexed just that page and when (if it does) shows up in the result, its the very last result ... I am completely lost what needs to be done ...

I don't think I can go to bed without saying: Martinibuster, you are wrong. You found something that I wasn't hiding in the first place and ran with it to false conclusions. You called me a liar. I am not. You made big assumptions, with very little facts, and didn't bother to ask me about any of it. Guilty without defense. Shoot first ask later. Take your pick. After reading your last post again, you're assumptions are more wrong than when I first read it.

>>>What I am saying is that I'm trying to find help from Yahoo.

That's completely off topic to what this thread is about. WebmasterWorld is not the Yahoo Batphone. So please refrain from using every post about penalties or bans as a pretext for complaining about Yahoo's treatment of your website or seeking a break for your website.

>>>I have a website that is my company and my life. I'm trying to save it. I'm going under.
The way that statement is worded leads one to believe you only have that one website, and I'm not the only one who responded to that post similarly. I took that statement at face value.

>>>I tried to play by the rules for years.

The above cited websites are breaking the rules of duplicate content. For instance, one statement from your "questions" section (about debit cards) has 90 words that were lifted from the nolo law website. You call stealing content abiding by the rules?

>>>Guilty without defense. Shoot first ask later. Take your pick.

I took your statement at face value and made the logical assumption (as did others) that your website in your profile (which by coincidence is also penalized) was the one you are talking about.

It's perfectly reasonable to assume that your other site is similarly afflicted by mistakes in judgement. If you're a newbie at this as you claim then you may want to consider seeking professional advice to get your sites reviewed to find some reasons why they might not live up to Yahoo's quality guidelines, and help you clean them up. Taking a thread off topic by complaining here isn't going to help your business.

You might not like what I'm saying, but it's said in the spirit of helping you.

If you want to see if you're site is penalized or want to have your site reviewed, please send an email to the following address:
webmasterworldfeedback@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Yahoo! Mike

What is the point of giving us that email address if it just returns the standard form mail telling me to check if the site is in the index.

Since my home page is still there then technically the site is still in the index and the email tells me not to bother asking for a site review. I'm sure that is not by accident.

I'm not bothering any more since I'm fairly sure it is inter-linking with 2 of my other sites that caused the site to drop out of the index.

Since those sites are on topic and it benefits my vistors to link them together I'm not going to remove the links.

I was hoping to know for sure if that was the issue just in case I did something stupid.

actually its quite funny. You can write to that address with any subject, an invitation to your your grannys tea party if you want, and you will get back the same email asking you to check if your site is in the index.

reportsearchspam@yahoo-inc.com doesnt seem to give the canned repsonse so you may have more chance of your email being read.

Have you recently got your site a Yahoo Directory listing. If yes, then there's a great chance that your domain is penalized.

I agree that's possible.

But don't tell that to Steveb. He argued with me for about a week that my problems, which began right after getting a Yahoo Dir listing, weren't associated with Yahoo Dir. The moment I got unlisting my site started coming back and today is performing great.

If u search for 'more pages from this site', it shows 2 identical listings for same site.
Is this a penalty?
