Hi, Ive read several threads at webmaster world but I had never started one but I feel i really need help now so started this:
Basically my site used to rank in the top 5 for several great keywords in Google, MSN and Yahoo. A few weeks ago it dropped out of Yahoo altogether (only get the index page in a search now if type in site url and the only page shown is the index page when click more from this site). Shortly afterwards it also dropped out of MSN as well and now google also so im losing thousands of hits a day!. I decided to upload an older version of the site incase a change I had made might have caused the problem but this had no affect.
I have checked my html is valid and checked my robots.txt and .htaccess files and found no problems there.
I have also made several searches and found there were some sites that had totally duplicated my content and I have also just found another site that appeared to link to my site but on closer inspection linked to a page on their site that used this code: "<script>document.write('<me'+'ta·http-equi'+'v="refresh"·content="0;'+'url=http://www.'+'my-site-in-link.'+'com/">');</script>" so it is using a meta refresh tag which will affect my site a bit(these are mentioned here: [webmasterworld.com...]

I am trying to get all these websites to remove the duplicate content and get the site with the meta refresh to remove it as well but what else can I do - is there anyway to find out if my site has been banned for some reason and what that could be for?
Losing several top 5 rankings in one search engine is bad enough but in Yahoo, google AND MSN at the same time seems very strange indeed.
Please help!

Do a search for your title tag in quotes in yahoo. Your site should show up on the first page. I am under the impression that 100% of a page needs to be copied for someone to trip the yahoo dupe filter. If you find such a person then quickly contact copyright@yahoo.com.

I did a search in quotes as you said and the top result was for a site that has an exact copy of my home page in the yahoo cache. When i try going to the page I get a 404 page not found so it looks like they have now removed it but it is still in the cache.
Can I get this removed from the yahoo cache somehow?

Also on some of the other search results returned there are pages which redirect straight to my homepage when I click on them so these are probably using that meta refresh trick as well :o(

My site did not appear on the first page or any of the 9 pages -(there were so many results as there are loads of sites that seem to have linked to me and just used the title instead of the text and description I have put on my webmasters page).

What can I do now?
Someone please help
