Hello friends,

I am watching results at Yahoo constantly and observed there is no change since three months. All the results are intact and above all Yahoo is not indexing latest pages also. All its cache shows Nov or Oct pages have any one observed this?

Above all my browses shows script error for Yahoo does any one seen this?

If this scenario continues then how can we optimize pages? and what shall we tell our client about this how can we convince them?

Any good comment?

Regards

Yes, i've noticed the same exact problem. My site has been stuck for my main keyword at #33 and I haven't budged for months.

This is despite the fact that I gained hundreds of links and am listed twice in High PR dmoz categories.

This is seems to be a Yahoo sandbox, except its caused by their slow indexing system.

We saw tremendous changes last night, but by this morning everything was back to normal. Not only were we gone from several particular terms, but so were all the usual competitors, leaving pure junk. Again, by this morning everything was back to normal. We're wondering if anyone else saw the same thing last night or if anyone sees it on a recurring basis?

I see daily changes in Y serps. There also appears to be at least two different sets of results.

Also, Yahoo gives out a cookie. If you delete this cookie, you will see entirely different results.

You must all try deleting the cookie. This will show you some drastically different results.

One day my site was at number 14, I then deleted this annoying cookie, and I fell back to my "home" at #33.

I believe this cookie is made to personalize results.

All this is somewhat true.

I have a website with a very competitive keywords, which I monitor hourly on Yahoo (when I am not asleep).
There has been changes on Yahoo, especially earlier this month - my website was #1 than #6 then #9 then #2 and my main competitor was dropped from the index (it was pure spam website) and now I am #1.

As far as the cookie - it's true - if you clear your cookies you will see different results (much more benefitial for me I would say), however, if you clear the cookies again - you will see back the old results.
This whole "cookie" situation is very weird, and I would love to hear some opinions, or if Yahoo_Mike is still around, maybe he will throw some light on the subject.

Oh, and by the way, if you would like to see the real Yahoo index (what other people usually see) you could do a search on the CNN website - they are powered by Yahoo.

We saw big changes starting the night of the 7th and carrying through last night. A few have stuck for us but not sure about some of the more important ones. One strange thing is that on one of our terms where we moved up to #6 it is cached version of about a 6 week out of date page. The change made was pretty minor, but I am surprised they still have this version of the page cached. I still like Y but it never ceases to amaze me how slow they are. Slurp is like molasses in winter, cached pages change slowly, etc.
