You can customize the tabs on it... I think it looks better than the old search page, but looks JUST like Google.
You cannot switch the tab, and keep the same query.

This is a new change as of today. Overall it's pretty similar to what was there before but the design is a bit more clean.

The same search options exist at the top of the main portal page of course. It makes me wonder sometimes how many peeps who aren't devotees to forums like this one ever find, let alone use, the search.domain.com page

Yup. Google is hunting down several websites for web-dressing (the look and feel etc) identical to google. And now Google is silent on Yahoo!
