Not penalized, but ranked last

Out of 104 search results for my company name, my site is #100. It has been like this since the last two weeks of August. In addition, every page of my site except for the homepage has been removed. Before this, I had great placement in Yahoo.

Yahoo says it was not penalized. After all my research, I am convinced that the URL has been singled out to rank low for any search. What other explanation is there?

you may well ask. The assumption being it is/was a minus part of the algo applied to your site so its reduces your rankings now and in the future but doesnt ban you altogether.

I think there is more chance of there being someone still sat on the grassy knoll than Yahoo being specifically out to get you. If there are only 104 results for your company name then either you are banning people from talking about you or you're not really that important. I'd look elsewhere before deciding Yahoo "just plain have it in for you" ....

Ranking last is generally a sign of a penalty.

Ranking last is generally a sign of a penalty.

He/she isn't last, he's/she's fourth last! ;)

What would that indicate? That four other sites got penalised more for his/her company name?

(Hmmmm ... maybe we should have gender indicators next to our names to avoid insulting people?)

"That four other sites got penalised more for his/her company name?"

Yes, probably. This happens all the time.

or that this is the relative position after a demotion penalty, which isnt the same as having no ranking......its like having almost no ranking....thats why you still show..
