I run a major travel site specific to one region of the world. Yahoo dropped us cold, way back in March I think. But so did ATW. I figured we got dropped because Yahoo started using ATW technology. Now I see that if I search for my site name, without the .com, the results are exactly the same on Yahoo, ATW, and MSN.com
We lost a lot of traffic. I have written Yahoo several times and received no response. I think the new paid inclusion thing Yahoo has going is highway robbery - I have to pay to submit my URL - and then pay .30 a click? We had been in the Yahoo directory for 9 years! We had 20,000 some pages in ATW - now, 0!
The last thread "My recent experiences with Yahoo! and penalties." got a little long but I never even knew I was "penalized" until I read this tonight. I am just wondering what to do - I am afraid that most of my traffic now comes from one place - Google. My business is at an all time high and I built the business on never wanting to have to rely on any one large client. I feel now that I am relying on one search engine and it is disconcerting. I appreciate all relevant feedback and if anyone can email me links about where to find out about being penalized etc. I would love to see them!
