Hello: Sorry if this was asked before.

My main (index) page gets decent Yahoo serps, and is crawled/spidered regularly, almost daily. When I find it under my pet keyword however (or any other way) Y gives a snippet from my meta destription and/or actual page text that is at least 2 years old and way out of date.

All I want is a more recent snippet / description.

What's the use of Y re-crawling if they throw away what they find? - Larry

This may be your yahoo directory description. You will need to have this changed to see changes in the Yahoo search results.

Changing a site description in any directory can be a fruitless endeavor. Personally, I've given up after only a few tries. I would rather have an insufficient description as opposed to irritating an editor and see my site removed altogether.

What's the use of Y re-crawling if they throw away what they find?

The Meta Description tag is about the last resource for a webmaster if the description needs to be made current, and if you're lucky enough to be listed in a directory then the Meta Description is a waste of time.

It looks to me like Yahoo is rolling back to some much older information.
The rankings are bascially current however cache, links and snippets are quiet old
