Major SERPS Changes at Yahoo

Finally after dont' know how much time Yahoo is showing some diffrenet resutls. I've some of my results on top for diffrent keywords of various categories.

Anyone has an idea when did Yahoo had such major changes last time.

Our site is nowhere in yahoo it a large well established site that stated its life in 1997 yahoo just keeps sending standard replies with the usual rubbish. Today we found another blatent rip off of our site called snipped and its ranked well all over yahoo for alot of our keywords search phrases anyone got any ideas this really pisses me off we all work really hard and you get nowhere then someone just strips your site and there everywhere.

Any ideas snipped

Zach, I am aware of your site (We are in the same biz). Are you saying that the site you posted, which is a misspelling on your site, does not belong to you?

If so, you should go after them big time, call their ISP do whatever, they ripped off your logo, the look and feel of your site etc. You should be able to put a stop to them legally I would think...

sorry for the name mention didnt know it was an offence.ive e-mailed their i.s.p. with no response yet and we rang the tel no on the reg details .The guy who picked the phone up had never heard of the registrant.This has happend a couple of times. Last time the offend site was appearing in google and after lenthy letters n e-mails google took out of the index and the site disapeard its does somthing in chinese now.The worse bit of this senareo is that we do not even get listed in yahoo an this site does.

hi zach check your affiliate airline and it looks like they affiliate with those guys now how is possible you find ......&adid=kb0002 in both domains if you ask them maybe the know his id.

Yours is a very interesting situation Zach. It seems to validate the theory that a rogue site or in this case a fraudulent one can duplicate the content of a legitimate site and have the legitimate site removed from Yahoo. It shows the inherent flaws in the Yahoo algo, which Yahoo fails to recognize. The duplicate per sec may not causing your site to be booted but the lack of inbound links seems to be giving the fraudulent site priority.

Basically a duplicate site, or any site for that matter, with very few inbound links can bypass the Yahoo filter where the legitimate site with perhaps hundreds of legitimate inbound links is booted.

I would think yours is an easily correctly situation if you can obtain some customer service. If the inbound links are what is affecting your site in Yahoo then booting the duplicate site may just lead to an appearance of another duplicate site or yours remaining un-indexed.

Outland, that doesn't work either. I have a site been 1 to 3 for money word for 2 years a G, was #1 on Y for about a year as well, also listed as one of most popular sites in directory; yet was COPIED (home page text) exactly by 2 people both of which I reported. My site GONE for 3 months now and the fraudulent sites still in serps. I have sent numerous complaints to proper people including YahooMike and yet nothing has been done or indication that it will be. In mean time site continues to flourish as always at G.

buy the way they did the same with one of my pages that redirects to my index but the fake page is in yahoo index and my page is gone ,well if thats a new kind of war i will do the same with those b....ds

where is this yahoomike to report those things in yahoo,is becoming a serious problem,that means anybody can take you out fron Yahoo and Msn by copyiing your page,is that internet or a jungle?

Natim the key word was "if" they could obtain competent customer service. I'm aware that Yahoo CS is poor. If you can’t track down the abuser that may be the only course. Indeed it’s a pitiful choice. Yes, it is amazing that fraudelent sites would fall so low in the results at Google, because of the lack of links, that it would discourage the duplicates. But the opposite is true at Yahoo. The abusers profit because of the Yahoo algo. They can repeat the same behavior over and over without fear of reprisal with the current CS.
