New site gets into Yahoo and then disappears

"Just when you thought it was in, they pull it back out!"

I submitted a new .org site to yahoo afew months ago. After a while it appeared when I did a search under its name. Now it no longer appears at all.

What's up with that?

The site has basically been dormant since getting listed as I had to divert my time to another site. So it's not like I might have done anything to piss Y off.

Can anyone tell me why it no longer appears?

BTW, it's a very attractive site with good original content.

How many links from other sites point to your site? Assuming your site is free of any techniques intended to make it rank higher than it deserves, this would be a main factor.

Basically, site submission is dead, and you need incoming links to get and stay listed in top-tier search engines.

It's a new site, so the incoming links total about one (1) right now.

BTW, the subject line for this thread should refer to Yahoo not Google. I thought I had fized that last night.
