I have been watching a few sites drop in and out of the results on Yahoo for a competitive phrase for a few days now.

I have had a look through the forum and there seems to be no news of a firm update cycle as of yet, is this still the case?

There's a lot of uncertainity about how an update goes about on yahoo. Recently i made some changes on the home pages of my sites to make them rank better in yahoo. While the changes got reflected for few keywords they're not for others. old cache for smoe keywords and new for some others.
Yahoo unlinke behaves like the water in a still pond whereas the changes at goolge makes it look like flowing river.

If it helps - I saw rankings change Friday (30th July) - but they've settled down now. New backlinks were also picked up (the backlinks are fresher than Google's from where I'm sitting).

Thats the day that I saw a difference in the results, it has now reverted back to the old listings.

Well, we have lost almost all of our rankings in Y in the past week. Not gone but moved from top 10 to 200+.

We just came back from the search engine stratatgies conference in San Jose where I asked about this with one of the Y drones and he could only shrug his shoulders and point me to their rules and regs pages.

All of these pages rank very well in both Google and MSN. and were beginning to creep up nicely in Yahoo until last week
