Hey gang,

Wanted some feedback. I found over the past couple of years that Yahoo and Google having been switching two primary algorithms back and forth about every three months. The one algorithm rewards sites that are heavy in meta tag information, robots, index 30 days, etc etc. The other algorithm rewards sites that have very little meta tag info, using only the title, description, and a brief listing of keywords tag.

What I've noticed lately though is that while this methodology still exists for most of the search engines, Yahoo, it seems, is now using the opposite algorithm at the same time most of the other engines are using the other algorithm. While I don't mind this, it makes life difficult to build multiple sites for various algorithms. I am currently experimenting with a content system that will allow me to build my pages for the sites I develop... one for each algorithm and they both will exisit at the same time. Additionally, I testing out a new theory for gateway pages that will use cgi scripts to insert content on a random basis for each day of the month. While this means more pages for the system, it is my hope that every system gateway page will randomly change and thus, while every page in the system will be similar to other GW pages, they will have unique random content based on a particular formula I am developing.

I would be interest to hear from others what their experience has been with the two algorithms and if any things yahoo is posting results from the flip side of the coin. If so, is it worth the headache trying to please all Yahoo Visitors and then the rest of the world.

Thanks for the posts.
