Yahoo - Listings just wont settle

Driving me crazy

Woke up this morning and did the normal site:www.domain.com check on Yahoo for one of my sites and was showing 45 pages (bit depressed as I had 105 listed yesterday) - just done another check and now I am up to 220!

This type of things has been happening with Yahoo for a while now - it just cant seem to settle down and pages get dropped and added all the time - it is driving me nuts.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Secondly, this might have been covered, not sure - anyone got any idea why some pages have the cache text next to the results and some dont - surely if the page has been listed it has been fetched and therefore cached (if caching allowed by the site.)

Dayo Yahoo's systems are geared towards freshness, their entire algo is about updating frequently based on many factors such as changes to on-page criteria, sites submitted, changes in link popularity.

I think it's to be expected that the serps will constantly change.

I wouldn't monitor rankings so much as traffic and ROI. Check your traffic from Yahoo, where the traffic is coming from, and other ways to get more traffic by increasing your number of links and entry points.

there appears to have been a major algo change overnight - I have tons of sites that are now top 10...

though when I ask my friends from around the world to check the listings they see different things than i do - will these all eventually be close to the same or will it stay like this?

Significant changes today. What we see could offer us insight into future Yahoo dances... or not, since this one is a bit special since it is healing a technical problem that has been plaguing Yahoo.
