I've trying to find out how many pages a site has indexed by Yahoo, but am getting conflicting results

Using the advanced search ("only search in this domain/site"), and entering the company name, site name, or domain name I only get 2 results.

But if I stick in other words such as "Forum" I get loads more.

Does anyone know a better way to get an accurate result?

Enter the url of the web site into the search field
and your site will be listed first. On the last line of your listing to the right there should be a link that says "More pages from this site ". Click on the link and you will see all the pages Yahoo has indexed.

Try a search using:

site:www.example.com

Yahoo will report how many pages are indexed for that domain in red above the results.

no - thats not doing it either.

Google has always shown slightly different results on searches like

site:www.domain.com
site:www.domain.com -sdfasdfsdaf
site:www.domain.com domain

etc...

but is usually a lot more accurate than this at Yahoo
