Lots of ranking implications here...some will surprise you!

didn´t know that the best of AV was their revelancy (their ranking system) and the best of ATW was the fast indexing.
Funny in AV I was in the best position compared other SE.
But let's take an example of say, a travel company. The Yahoo! Slurp crawler typically is going to come around and visit a site every three to four weeks.
Why does yahoo slurp spiders my robots.txt 2 or three times/day?
Third, read that yahoo don´t want several similar results if searching for exampel to buy an book.
just to check, I wrote in Yahoo search: Hotel in (famous city) and on top of search results, yahoo-travel with name, prices and availibility link for three hotels.
choosed one of these and now searched for the name of that hotel, the first page for results were only sites doing reservations in that hotel, isn´t that affiliate sites?

Other things I found fascinating-
- the bit about 'de aliasing' as well confirmed something I thought I had noticed about Yahoo's search engine versus Googles.
- personalization as the future of Yahoo search .. how you can be number 1 for one person but not for another ..
- the fact that they index beyond the 60 characters .. nice to see that in black and white
- they're not crawling flash right now
- ‘laptop computers’ will count for ‘laptop computers’ and not ‘laptop’ or ‘computers’ separately. So doing it like that means that you're not going to be penalised for keyword spamming on the word ‘computers’.
- ODP seems just as important as Yahoo directory for Yahoo - "The way that I would classify it is, that our relationship with the Yahoo! directory is very similar to that which we have with Open Directory. We also have a relationship with Open Directory Project.
- and a lot more.
Really amazing stuff. Very nice to finally read something by the actual people who run these things.
If anyone knows where else I can find these sorts of articles / web pages, please sticky me!
