Is anyone else having problems with Yahoo! Groups today?

All the moderated groups my partner manages are no longer owned by his Yahoo! ID.

This means that the groups have no owner and that posts to the groups can no longer be approved.

All attempts to contact anyone in tech support by phone or by e-mail were unsuccesful.

Hi katheesue, this forum is mainly for web marketing through Yahoo, we tend to not discuss Yahoo groups or email very much. I don't have any Yahoo groups so I wouldn't know what to tell you.

Thank you,

About six tech support responses came through last night but none of them fixed the problem.

In my experience, Y!G and similar products are a very important part of web marketing. It is number three on the list of "things to do first."

Problem solved.

As of this morning, all the groups have returned. They came back in dribbles and drabbles. first one, then 17, then 42, and then all of them. It took about five days to get fixed.

Next problem,

Most of the groups are suffering from url listings only. There is no title, no description and no snippet. Is this a Google problem or could this actually be caused by something Yahoo! is doing?

That's great that the problem got fixed. This sounds like a Yahoo spidering problem. Yahoo has been changing their algorithm and technology, and during the transition there may be a few glitches. You could try writing to them at webmasterworldfeedback@yahoo.com

Sorry this was unclear.

Yahoo lists them properly. It is Google which lists the address only, with no Title, no Description, and no snippet.
