For over a year we have been toying with SEO and with regard to Yahoo we now sit at position 5 for our key phrase. We are listed in the Directory and have several of the pages indexed via inktomi.

Im not 100% sure that yahoo is using our Inktomi indexing to get our current position. So the emails telling us we wont get yahoo traffic by the 15th may are a little worrying.

Can you tell if results are inktomi results or just the general Yahoo alogo results tied in with our directory listing? I see inktomi is show in the links of some of our competiors but our link does not mention inktomi..

basically dont want to throw another few hundred £££ down the pan for the goal posts to change again if sitematch falls on its arse..

Cheers

Have you been paying for Inktomi inclusion in the past, or do you have pages in for free?

A mix of both really, we submitted 4 of our main pages last year, but we see that ink indexes our whole site from the log reports..

At the moment it seems to be a mix. Apparently my meditation site is out although I can find it in their database, I think Tim said they keep the sites in the database but penalize them so they never rank.
They said they're trying to get the content in from the directory, so after you free traffic you might stay in, but they'll probably drop you from the rankings so you have to pay.

If true he just suggested to not ever pay for inclusion. You will forever ruin the chances of getting free traffic.
