As promised at Pubcon the free ADDURL has been launched on the Yahoo! site. It is only available right now directly at: [submit.search.yahoo.com...]
You need to log into Yahoo.com to use this service.

This URL will be linked to from the search pages shortly.

On one site this morning I got the time out error four times before it went through. When I checked my logs there had been five hits for that page from Yahoo.

Your submission request was not accepted because:
The following resulted when trying to access your document: timeout
Please correct and resubmit the form below.

I continue to get this message after numerous attempts on various URLs

Are you guys really going to post announcing every time you get a timeout?

I have an old angelfire site that has a meta redirect to my new (2-3 year old) domain, but the angelfire site is still listed. My newer domain is listed also, but farther down. Should I still submit my newer domain or is there some other way that I can get it to replace the angelfire site's position?

I would use this service with great caution! If Y is spidering the web for FREE, why would they need this other than to single out commercial and spam sites. This could flag your site(s) for removal or even human review...

And why would they let you submit your site for FREE when they are hoping to have your credit card on file soon.

Great Caution...

I'm not even going to touch the add URL for now. All my important sites are in anyway. You never know what the domains you submit manually may be flagged up for (mine are clean by the way).

<<You never know what the domains you submit manually may be flagged up for (mine are clean by the way).>>

I considered that as soon as I saw Tim's Post and went ahead and submitted my sites,

'anyhow since at this point in time, I couldn't imagine being worse off than I am right now. I'm in there at Yahoo, but my sites are doing horribly, and it seems so unwarranted as well.

Greetings Tim,
Thank you for making me smile this morning by posting the URL to the free submit. I have a question and I am sure a lot of people have the same one.

We have to register for an account to submit, thus all URL submitted from the account are tied together. I do web design for a firm and help submit their sites, thus will be submitting up to a few thousand sites. Is this too many for one account to submit? Will it be thought as spamming Yahoo? I don't want to trigger anything with Yahoo, but I would like their database of sites indexed to grow by submitting my sites :)

Was this announced anywhere else? Is this a test to get a list of WW members sites?

It's like that site that wanted people to report on spam ......

I will submit all my competitors sites and see what happens first.

Tim,
A while back Inktomi admitted there was a penalty associated with using their add URL form. Are you penalized by yahoo for using the Add URL form?

Like that florida google hate site where you submitted your keywords. That list of keywords was great. I just made pages for a bunch of those words and ranked for a lot of them. Sent me in directions I might not have. Thanks for the free kw list guys.

[QUOTE]A while back Inktomi admitted there was a penalty associated with using their add URL form.[QUOTE]

A penalty that was lifted if and when they found an external link pointing to your site. It was not a permanent error, just temporary. It would penalise 'island' sites.

That is exactly what I did, didnīt know it cost money, first time I went in there..........

Thanks for clarifying. I never went that route but good to know. Will Yahoo do the same?

In riveting news, the Yahoo Add URL page can now be found via a search on both Yahoo and Google. Two fresh databases... at least for that page.

Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled.

Glad to see it, but, in light of the above, I'm not overly excited.

i have several sites i've never submitted to the new 'free submit' and Yahoo/Slurp is eating them up on a daily basis.
