when the new Yahoo hit i was number 1# for a competitive term, friday it was number two, today its nowhere for any keyword search, not on any page. Search for site shows its still in the index. I thought only google was that unstable and unpredictable.

DaveN, does Google give you a reason or...?
Abigail, if they're spidering you I don't think you should worry then. Eventually you'll get in. Robots.txt is where Slurp stops (other than / which is pfi) on my main site.

This is my case too. From what I read around here it means you have some penalty on your site.

Well it's grabbing robots.txt and more having a fine dine on hundreds of pages. I am seeing a rare Yahoo hit in my stats log but when I go to check out the serps, even within seconds I can't see my page that was hit.

walkman no google don't give you a reason and they still spider your site. I have a site which was banned a long time ago google spiders it all the time.....but you can't even find the url listed in G.

"still no reply.................." actually Tim replied on another thread and said that they're busy with the conferences, and will go through them. I suggest what I'm practicing, patience. As hard as it may sound, at least Tim has been nice enough to listen and do something about it.

Soapy, I have responded to people from that email address. Assessing penalties tends to take longer. The person who is answering those queries will be back in the office from SES tomorrow and will have an answer for you soon. Tim

I wasn't even thinking about why my site dissappeared in All the Web. Now Positiontech PFI has me eliminated in MSN, Hotbot, Yahoo, and All the Web. I guess after years in AV they have to terminate me now to.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I always felt Yahoo was the greediest of them all. I remember arguing with 500 people who believed Yahoo's $50 directory listings would vanish and they would go back to strictly free results.
