Why does Ebay rule Inktomi?

Do INk and ebay have some kind of agreement?

In pure search on Inkotmi, I'm noticing that ebay generic search pages literally rule the serps. Listings for page that look something like this: [search.ebay.com...]

For specific searches for products in so many areas, I'm fiding ebay search (spam) listings coming up at the top instead of real sites. I'm also fiding lots of affiliates... anybody else notice this too or is this just specific to the industries that I am looking at? It certainly didn't use to be like this. Very strange.

To be honest i'm not fond of the inktomi index at all.

full of "fluff" with no content.
