i'm disgusted with Inktomi..

Is there any insight into this new proposed launch and wheather or not they're actually going to start spidering more frequently and tweaking the serps?

Searching for stuff on inktomi brings up more links to nextag and poor results, much worse then florida.

i'm all for competition on the search engines, but this isn't competition, this is corporate dominance and paid to play inclusion that is taking over!

I really don't see a correlation with Florida.

If PFI was 'the Way' I would be cheering because at least I would know what to do.

I work for commercial interests and from my chair serps dominated by commercial interests are grand!

...Although I do see your point.

And when they're going to have their bot stop requesting pages which have been 404 since the ice age. :)

The correlation is i hear lots of people complain about the google florida update but no one seems to care about the lack of good serps in Inktomi - and since Yahoo is apparently dropping google results and going to Inktomi i'm suprised it hasn't really come up.

PFI is alright in some respects, but search engines are vehicles to find content IMHO, not specificly an interface for you to pay someone to buy something from you (as there are many other services to do that)
