Seat Pagine Gialle and Yahoo! have sealed an important international agreement that envisages integration and use of Italian and English companies' databases provided by Seat Pagine Gialle and its subsidiary Thomson Directories Ltd in the Yahoo! search engine in Italy and the UK.

Seat Pagine Gialle (Yellow Pages) has more than 3 Mill advertizers and is the largest European Yellow Pages operator. Thomson (thomsonlocal.com) is a subsidary of Seat.

I think this mostly points to the Yellow Pages craze in the paid search business space. Citysearch is on the move, LS strikes a deal with BellSouth [webmasterworld.com]...
Yelow Pages have what paid engines want most: paying advertizers.
It also points in the direction of local search/extreme geotargeted search advertizing.

Apart from the direct financial aspects this could add real value and a lot of new eyeballs to Yahoo in Italy and the UK.
