Yahoo Customer Service Nightmare

Has anyone else here ever had trouble getting them to respond?

Over the past month, I have been trying to purchase one of Yahoo's new "Merchant Solutions" packages (the product they just recently implemented), but some technical glitch in their system has prevented me from doing so (without going into detail, the problem seems to involve the particular domain name I'm trying to use, which I had purchased a few months earlier from godaddy.com). Throughout this time, I have been desperately trying to get Yahoo to resolve this issue, calling both their tech support and sales support team. While they have tried to be helpful, the problem is that they don't really have the ability to resolve the issue -- only Yahoo's engineers do. However, there is apparently no way for me to speak to the engineers directly, so I have to rely on the sales/tech support staff to leave messages with them. Basically, this strategy has gotten me absolutely nowhere, and they are unable to provide any evidence whatsoever that their engineers are actually working on this issue or have any intention of fixing it. Meanwhile, I continue to lose money by the day as I'm unable to start building and then open my new online store.

Has anyone else here ever had trouble getting Yahoo to fix a problem? If so, was it ever resolved? How did you finally get their attention?

My one experience with Yahoo! customer service entailed me buying something that I immediately realized was NOT what I wanted, and then being informed that it was non-refundable. I'm sorry, no it's not. You didn't say that up-front, and I didn't get what i want, so I'm resolving this now. I called them up. I had to sit there on hold for 45 minutes on two different occasions over long-distance telephone for them to tell me they couldn't help me; they'd mis-led me into buying something I didn't need, and now weren't going to give my money back when I gave it back.

So I charged it back on my credit card.
B****ds.

It's non-refundable since you can just keep whatever code/etc you payed for.

The problem with companies this big are the same problems you have with your local utility companies - they don't provide customer service because they don't have to.

Don't like your local electric company? Your alternative is to do without electricity. Go buy some candles.

Don't like Yahoo? Your alternative is....

I signed yahoo hosting and paid them several months without my site opened. I called them and they told me I can cancel online. But I searched bottom up and could not find the place to cancel online (yes you can sign up online!)
I called again and one guy said it's cancelled. but several days later I get charged again for a new month. I called again and finally cancelled. but I paid one more month for nothing.

I will not recommend yahoo service, yahoo store, hosting ...

May I add Yahoo travel? They charged me for tickets they never purchased on my behalf from the end vendor. When I notified them that I had not received my tickets, and they realized the error, they balked at fulfilling my order because in the interim the price had gone up.

Yet they were all to happy to keep the charge on my credit card. It took hours just to figure out who to call and hours of being on hold to get it all sorted out.

Setup a free shopping cart, or hire someone that can. Simple as that.

Over a two year period I have had nothing but grief from them. Overcharging is normal for me followed by many emails for the larger amounts. I don't bother with the smaller stuff such as Website Services, just moving from them bit by bit.

Don't do online stores with them. Full stop. Many other solutions available that may or may not be harder to set up but I can guarantee that you will have less of a nightmare over the long run.

Good, upfront companies deal with you professionaly.

There is something very wrong with the way Yahoo do business. It almost borders on the fraudulent. I am not saying it is fraudulent but it really makes you think.
