Reminds me of Looksmart

Very questionable tactics used by the Yahoo Store Billing department. After going through the initial 30 day free trial, we decided to give Yahoo Store a try for another month paying their $45.00 a month fee, then after almost no traffic and zero sales we called to cancel our account and they offered to give us 60 days at no charge.

Called last week to cancel our account. No problem, no questions asked. Went to look at the billing history today, and they have been charging our client $45.00 a month for the "60 days at no charge". After being obviously disgruntled over this with "customer service" they finally agreed to refund the money.

At least they refunded the money, better than I can say for Looksmart.

Synopsis: Don't open a Yahoo Store expecting to tap into their traffic easily. Its just as much, if not more work than creating your own traffic. You are better off going with a more reasonably priced host/e-commerce provider. IF you do open a Yahoo Store, watch your billing very closely!

I own a Yahoo store and I can second that. They are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with for shady billing and lame excuses.

If I had it over to do again, I would NEVER open a Yahoo store. Ever.

This happened to us with Sponsored Listings. It was a nightmare. They really need to improve on this area. As a result, we always keep very very close eye on all our "dealings" with Yahoo.

The Sponsored Lisings scam was very unethical. I thought those types of antics were reserved for the US phone companies.

Thanks Yahoo! for representing ecommerce so well!

We were quadruple billed for one listing recently. Oddly enough, only one instance of a listing shows up for the date in question in our account.

Seems odd that there is billing information (apparently, since they billed it), but no physical evidence of such a listing they billed for...

I'm not aware of a "sponsored listings" scam. Please explain.
