Am I missing something?

Well I've been listed on Yahoo! Canada for almost 24 hours. I looked through my log files and not a single referral from Yahoo! Does anyone know at least partial scoop on the ranking algo. I thought I understood it somewhat - obviously not. Is Yahoo! case sensitive?

When you get added to Yahoo, your listing is available in the category right away, but it won't show up in search results for a few days. Give it 4-5 days, and you should begin to see traffic after they refresh.

Thanks for the encouraging words but the site is already searchable and it shows at number 868 out of 890(website matches). (hope that I won't get banned from WmW after admitting this):)

Are the keywords you are searching on included in your title and description?

Are a good portion of the listings above you category matches? You can't do much about the cat matches, but you can try to get your listing changed if the editor wrote a bad one that doesn't include your keywords. This is alot easier to do if it was a paid submission.

I've seen this, and then over the next few weeks it will work it's way up the listings. I believe it's the tracking of click throughs that does this.

The primary keyword is in a very short title, in the description and in the url. Only that in the title it's capitalized.

I'd submit the yahoo.ca/your_category to some engines, especially Google. While this will do nothing for your present ranking on Yahoo, you should see a boost due to the yahoo link.
