I have a bunch of yahoo email accounts and today I have experienced the following...

yahooname1:
I get a page that says, "You have exceeded the maximum number of login tries for the Yahoo ID yahooname1. The account has been temporarily locked for your security. You can wait 12 hours before trying to login again, or recover your ID and/or password by confirming your private information."

yahooname2:
I get a white blank page. Nothing else. The only source code on that page is

<!-- p20.my.dcn.yahoo.com compressed/chunked Tue Aug 12 07:44:57 PDT 2003 -->

yahooname3:
Logs in fine and all other features work well too.

Is Yahoo sick with some virus?

The first error sounds like you;ve entered in the wrong password a few too many times.

The second one sounds odd. Perhaps your PC has got the blast virus..it's done some funny things to the display of other websites.

It's probably a pre-caution, lots of people sniffing around yahoo have bots traversing through their chat systems, be it to advertize or to try crack your password.

afaik they use one of those "please type in the word you see in the picture" type precautions that prevent simple scripts from doing so, plus they lock your count as you mention.

Any better now? :)

Yea, my account is unfrozen, untamerped with, etc., now. I think you're right, brotherhood_of_LAN, about the mischievious kiddies and their scripts. As for the other non-loading yahoo page, it must have been due to a server having the hiccups or something like that. Anyhow, all is now well, and all log-on's are a "go."
