Hi,
Any suggestions how I can improve our search position on Yahoo search & directory? We have a very niche mkt keyword which means that we are top 3 on nearly all SE's including Google but for some reason Yahoo places us well out of the top 10.

Adybee, Yahoo mainly uses Google results.

Sporadically I have seen them exclude sites from their SERPS that are ranking in Google. I haven't figure out - perpahs a glitch or a penalty?

Certainly you can try getting more links and your keywords in anchor text for Google, and that might help with Yahoo.

Do you have a listing in their directory? That shouldn't make too much of a difference, but it might be helpful to know.

Hi,
Yes we appear to have a listing in the Yahoo directory as we appear a lowly 15 in the listings! It's a bit confusing as we hold 2 out of the top 3 positions on Google.com and .co.uk search!
However if I advertise the keyword with Overture shouldn't that get me a sponsored position in the directory & search?

My site is ranking at #6 in google but it is #19 in Yahoo for the same keyword.

Later, I have my site listed in Yahoo directory but it doesn't help me rank higher in Yahoo :(
