I was accepted by Yahoo Express and show up in directory. Was also showing up in Yahoo & Google search for the first few days but when I e-mailed them to change my site description, I no longer show up in their search . . . not even under my company name. It's been more than a month and numerous e-mails haven't done any good. Any suggestions?

Hi PWalsh

Welcome to Webmasterworld!

Just because you have a listing in the Yahoo directory does not guarantee you listings in Yahoo search results. The search is powered by Google so you must be in their index to appear on Yahoo search results. So no matter how many times you email Yahoo support they will not be able to help.

If you run a search on webmasterworld for Freshbot, you will find a probable answer to your problem. It sounds like the google freshbot found your site and listed it for a few days. Then as quickly as it was indexed it dropped out (as the freshness faded). At the next full update of the google index hopefully you will be back in. To increase the likelihood of this happening try to get a few more links from *decent* sites such as the ODP.

Read hard and use the search function and will find answers to all your questions!

Your site was dropped from the directory search too? This is supplied by an entirely different search method and only includes sites in Yahoo's Directory, and is a little behind in major search technology. Perhaps your description change caused you to drop in rankings. At least for the directory side of things.
