Hi all, does anyone know if Yahoo! is currently playing with the way they return search results for searches made right from the home page. I have a site that has a ranknig of 20 in Google. Yahoo shows it back in the 70's. This does not make sense to me because all of the other sites found in google are in corresponding places in Yahoo! Yahoo has not booted my site because we are still listed and score highly in several other searches pertaining to our business.

Any ideas? Anyone?

These posts have been popping up on and off for some time. Some speculate that they're testing Inktomi integration, others swear that the results, if they can see them, certainly aren't Ink.
Useless answer, but the best you're likely to get - nobody knows.

Quite a few people have mentioned this lately. I have a couple of sites with the same situation.

It's difficult to tell why this is happening. My only thought is that the siteg got caught in a Yahoo penalty.

That's all I can think of. I wish someone could provide some answers for this.

I don't think our site was penalized because it still ranks high in several other related search phrases. Unfortunately the good results are under phrases that people use maybe 1/100th of the time compared to the phrase we got bumped under. I am hoping that Y! is playing with their new "Smart Search" and that things are just screwed up at the moment... Time will tell.
