Does anyone know if there is a way I can list a client's site in Yahoo and pay $299 for one year only. I don't want Yahoo to keep charging my credit card on recurring basis if my client does not wish to get an yearly contract with me.

I could not find info on this in the archives...

Thanks.

Hi SeoRank,

Submit the site and keep track of all of the information that you used, including the credit card and email address.

They will contact you when it is time to renew, and then you can cancel at that point if you want.

Thanks 2_much

But the Y contract says they will automatically charge my credit card... They do not seem to offer me an option of cancelling before renewal...

When you submit the site you will be given a Yahoo account management area. You can specify if you do or do not wish to renew the site in there.

We were not contacted by Yahoo! upon renewal. They simply charged our Visa-card without notifying us at all...

Same here for the first site due - which was also a client who didn't want to renew! I called Yahoo up, got a refund and that's when I was directed to the account management area. Unless you are aware of it, you are likely to wind up paying. You have to notify them before the due date.

Were the emails you used to submit still valid?

For the emails that are still valid, we receive an email asking about the renewal.

We did not receive any emails either. We were only notified after the fact.

Oddly enough, we had a whole batch processed by Yahoo all within about 24 hours. Some had been long past expired when this happened!

Is'nt this a little high-handedness on Y's part?

Cashing in on a monopoly...until Google gives them a run for their 'directory' money too?
