Need advice on Yahoo listing change

Yahoo listing was moved into deep category. To ask the change or not?

Hello!
My site was listed for 6 months in good category with high PR and received a lot of traffic straight from this category.
Last week it was moved into dee-e-ep category (with lower PR and full of sites), and almost all the traffic has gone.
What will be better in this situation: to risk and ask for a listing change, or not to risk and leave as is?
Thanks in advance.

Hello GreenLeaf! Welcome to WW!

How much is your Page Rank (PR) in Google? Did that go down too? Did you recently made some changes to your site that could have caused your PR to go down?

Or is it possible that some of the sites that could have been linking to you are not anymore?

This seems like a lot of questions but some could be part of the answers to why you site dropped rankings in Yahoo!
However remember that the Google update just started only hours ago and, like most other past updates, it is normal to see PR's fluctuate up or down to finally stabalize once it's all over.

I hope that helped

Hi, SEO practioner!
Thanks for your answer, but actually the question wasn't about my site's PR dropping but about Yahoo listing changing: to request change of listing or not to request?
I'm very afraid that such request may end up with my listing removed. What do you think about it?

Dont waste your time.....they can't even be bothered responding to paying customers.
I'll be spending my money elsewhere next year, their loss, so stupid!

Hi GreenLeaf,

They usually don't respond to requests to change a category.

If you are now buried, it's not likely you'll get a lot of traffic. So you could try to get it changed - worse comes to worst, they drop you and you still don't get traffic. Or you could just leave it there and try to get the couple of visitors that may go your way. It's your call.

I would try to change it, just for the sake of the extra traffic. Most Yahoo directory listings are useless anyways.

Hi GreenLeaf:
Last month my free listing in Yahoo was listed under my old domain name and I requested a change of domain only. They did it very quickly(two days). Then all of a sudden it was REMOVED. I freaked! Sent a request again. And now after Yahoo's change and Google update, it's back. If it was me, I would leave well enough alone until after we see what happens with Inktomi.
