Forum Moderators: open
14% of Yahoo's revenue last year, puts Overture revenue to Yahoo at around 140 million or so, given that Yahoo earned 980 or so million last year.
Even if they earn 2/3 of the revenue through that deal, bringing it in house would add something to the tune of 40 million or so to their bottom line.
And, that article says Yahoo had 85,000 advertisers last year, all told. Overture has 80,000 according to the last figure they released.
Whilst Google has 100,000 advertisers, so Yahoo is short to them 15K advertisers.
They could make up the shortfall in a hurry with the right new, different or rolled up offereing of PFI / PPC / Directory Inclusion, etc.
Thanks again for the link, very eye opening!
