I admit I am a novice to the world of pc's (only had one since July 2001) but have managed, with a little help, to establish two websites - one for an American singer/songwriter and my own.

However, does one need a degree to find out exactly HOW to post a site on Yahoo? They certainly don't make it easy do they? My category would be music/entertainment - surely there must be a direct link to a page for me to post my URL?

Welcome to Webmaster World, Rufus.

If you want to try to get a listing in Yahoo, the first thing you need to do is choose the category you want the listing in.

For example:
Let's say you ahve a music site that sells sheet music. One possible category is:
Home > Entertainment > Music > Sheet Music

Now, scroll to the very bottom of the page. In tiny little text, you will see:

Copyright © 2003 Yahoo! Inc. All rights reserved. Privacy Policy - Terms of Service - Suggest a Site

Click on 'suggest a site'.

Make sure you are in the actual category when you click 'suggest a site'.

Hope that helps.

And make sure that you have drilled down to the deepest category available, as some of the higher cats aren't available, and you won't see that submit a site button. Until you drill deeper.
