Hi people.

Firstly i would just like to say hi to everyone as i am new to the forum. I am thinking of going for the Yahoo express $299 submission but would like to know of anyones experience with the service. Has anybody paid and not been included in the directory? Also i am currently getting around 800 to 1000 visitors/day but want to better my Google PR, would this help, or would i be better spending the $299 on a google ad-words? I just want to try and double my visitors to our site and i just havn't been able to get in the DMOZ directory after months and months. Would i really benefit out of the Yahoo PFI with the visitors i am getting already or is the Yahoo PFI better for new sites for getting spidered quicker. Thanks for any help in advance. What a good forum this is. Thanks peeps.

If the category you are submitting to at Yahoo is a high PR (2 or more PR's higher than your site currently ranks), it could help you a lot. If it is a low PR, then your money may be spent better elsewhere. If the PR of the page is about the same as your current one, then it's a toss up.

Just my two cents, but here are my thoughts:

For my sites, if the site is profitable and I need only a little boost to gain more traffic, I'm more willing to pay to get into Yahoo's directory just for the stable link and boost in pagerank. However, since Yahoo switched to Google and has bought Inktomi, it's anyone's guess as to what is going to happen in the future - will they switch back to their directory and abandon Google? It may be a great time to submit or it may not be - IMHO it's a gamble right now.

Sometimes you can get a lot of traffic from people drilling down through the categories, but it depends on the category!
