Yahoo toolbar to come?

In a story [dailyreviewonline.com] about Google Francine Brevetti claims:
Users loyal of Yahoo Mail will find searches integrated into the e-mail function. Those seeking a stock quote will find all the search engine's bounty delivered when they just input the stock symbol.

The company also is developing a tool bar that the user can call on to make searches when they are outside the Yahoo site

Did I miss that or is it news, or mere speculation?

hehe toolbar seems to be the new "buzz" thingy.
They've had this for sometime:
[companion.yahoo.com...]

Not sure if that's what he's talking about though.

hmm - sounds like that. So that's not new then. Does anybody use that toolbar?

Ick. I tried it a year or more ago. It is more like an advertising bar. They keep putting little ad icons up and changing them. I hated it.

I've used it for a while and it's fine, it's never bothered me and it's been somewhat useful.

It's definitely not new - it's been around for at least a year. The only thing it is useful for is to check SERP's - but since Yahoo started using Google I rarely use the toolbar.

I use it often. You can bookmark sites with it. Pretty slick. It has a calendar, and a few other customized options.
