I have a listing in Inktomi. Since Yahoo and Inktomi will be one, will this mean I will have a listing in Yahoo!? I know it's a long shot but I'm desperate! :)

Overture is Yahoo's best girl on the street. You can bet that Overture results will continue to be the top three results.

Right now, Froogle and GoogleNews are like heavy weapons cooling off in Google's pockets. But if they have an ipo you can bet that the pressure will be on for them to come out with both guns blazing. This means advertising, something you haven't seen yet (like I said, the guns are in the pocket).

This will not sit well with Yahoo. I figure that in this scenario Y will keep Overture up front, Y directory next, with Ink pulling in the backfill.

Just my opinion.

Hey ExtremeExports, good question. Unfortunately, no one really has an answer to that yet. OR if they do, they're not telling ;)

I would imagine Yahoo will use Ink results in some way so my guess would be yes, but it remains to be seen how the results will be displayed.

In the meantime, you still have to try and optimize for Google to have visibility in Yahoo.

I understand. Will try. It thought I was doing okay. This update my pr went up but all my top ranked kw's are gone. Yahoo was my next bet, I just hate to have to pay 299 for a listing.

Look at your keywords, then see who the results are coming from.

1st results: Overture.
Overture has great click-thrus and roi for some folks.

2nd results: Google
They be free, holmes.

Down at the bottom of the page: Click for directory (Yahoo $299 results). Good deal for some people. Not for others.

I'm waiting to see how things shake out. As I mentioned above, the landscape may change and you can bet your last dollar that I'll be changing along with it.

How do you know if your site is listed in Inktomi?
