hello there guys,
I need some help. A couple weeks ago, my website was showing in yahoo and google search engine web results.....
but now, it is only showing in google.com and not in yahoo . My site isn't in the directory yet. But does anybody knows what is the reason for not showing in yahoo. I heard that yahoo takes searches from google. and yet my site isn't showing in yahoo. Please help me.
Thank you.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, sardardolebole.

How long has your site been in the Google index altogether? Is it a new site, and is there a fresh date on your Google listing?

And when you say a couple of weeks ago, was that before or after the last Google update?

My site has been indexed i think for around a month now. Yes, the date is fresh. I think google refreshes every 24 hours or something. So it is fresh. To be more precise my site in yahoo went away only about one week ago.

Yahoo does get its search results from google - BUT - Yahoo runs Google’s results through there own algo to determine placement in the yahoo SERP. SO a good position in Google does not mean a good position in Yahoo.

Also with a new site there are always ups and downs until the site has “aged” a little.

well its been a while now..

I know it can be unnerving, but give it some time. It can often take as long as 2 full updates (2 to 3 months) before a newly added site "settles down".
