I have a site that has been listed in Yahoo forever (i.e.,free), and recently I got them to change my URL as I had moved the site. The new URL I told Yahoo about was mysite.com. Using .htaccess I have my server set so that requests to www.mysite.com get a 301 redirect permanent to mysite.com.

I see that Yahoo lists my site's URL as www.mysite.com. As a result I don't seem to be getting the little red arrow in my Yahoogle listings as my Google listing is under mysite.com. I was wondering if I should try to get Yahoo to change my URL to get the little red arrow? I cannot use the Yahoo Change Request Form because I get an error:

Yahoo! Change Request Error
Your change request was not accepted because:
The new URL <url:http://mysite.com/> already exists in Yahoo!
Is it worth the trouble? If so, how do I get in touch with Yahoo as I can't use the form?

Hi Bill, is it Yahoo.com or a regional office?

Hi Bill,

It sounds to me more like it's an issue with Google, not Yahoo. However, I'm not sure how to fix that in Google.

As to requesting Yahoo to change, here are a few ideas:

1. Email a bizex editor from a paid submission and request for his/her help.

2. Request a change through a local yahoo, like asia.yahoo.com or yahoo.co.uk

Let me know if you need a bizex's email address. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice 2_much.

This particular account has several listings, all of which were added back in the free era. I assume that this would fall outside the juristiction of a bizex editor's realm?

I have tried running the change through Yahoo Asia, but I get the same error. It seems they use the same form as on the yahoo.com site.
