Yahoo changes searches to drive higher Overture traffic.

I own a Yahoo Store which Yahoo gets a portion of if the order comes through Yahoo. This month on my store alone, they lost over $75,000 because of lost Yahoo Sales. I wonder if this will change their feelings on using Overture.

Hey Alex, there have been a few posts about Yahoo's finances which stated that a large chunk of their revenue (sorry if I'm blundering the finance talk) came from Overture. So even if they lost that much on your store, I bet they generated at least as much from Overture.

I've been bidding in Overture and have seen people bidding huge amounts. Especially with the changes to their bidding system, newbies are wasting tons of money because they didn't set it right. So I bet they're doing this for a reason.

Also, there's been lots of talk about them using content from other engines and finding ways to generate more revenue from search without relying on their directory.
